Custom eBook covers are fun jobs. Whether for established authors – fiction or non-fiction – interested in publishing back list books in electronic format (ie: Kindle, Nook, etc…) or for self-published authors targeting the eBook market, I love the variety. The images on this page are examples of my recent custom designs.
This process is a collaboration and starts with you contacting me and expressing interest. I will send you a quick questionnaire via email that will help me become acquainted with your book’s content, characters, genre and any personal preferences you may have. Sometimes a phone discussion ensues.
Once we have a mutual understanding of the direction of the cover, I will start to work. I may email you previews of images I’m considering for your comment. I’ll do a rough mock-up of a design and email it to you for feedback. Based on that feedback, I’ll complete the final design and send you both an eBook file and a web-appropriate file. The eBook files are formatted to suit both Kindle and Nook.
Prices are based on the cost of images I must purchase in order to design your cover plus the amount of time it takes to complete. Once I have a good understanding of what you want, I will quote you a final price. Payment is via PayPal and is to be paid before I begin work on your final design file. Discounted package deals are available for authors wanting both a print and eCover based on the same design.
The amount of time a cover design takes varies depending on how complex the design – particularly how many images are involved and how much manipulation they require. I’ve done simple rush jobs overnight but most eBook covers take 2 days after the mock-up is approved. If you have a specific deadline, please let me know ASAP.
I work with quality stock photography and illustrations, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
